Hi! I'm Alyssa, owner and operator of Lux Lash & Skin. I have been an Esthetician for 5 years, and a lash artist for 4. From a very young age, I was always interested in anything related to the beauty world, and then when I put makeup on for the first time I was hooked! I spent my pre-teen and teen years obsessed with beauty YouTube videos, playing with makeup, and eventually skin care. My drive to learn skin really started after having acne for all my teens. I later found out that I have a medical condition caused by a hormone imbalance, known as PCOS. I had no idea the huge role that my condition played into the poor state my skin was in, as well as my lack of knowledge on how to properly take care of my skin, or how to identify what I was doing to make my skin worse. My first ever job was at 16 years old, working as a receptionist at a multi award winning luxury lash spa, and it changed my whole career path. It was the spark of inspiration for me to pursue Esthetics. Although I knew I wanted to work in salons by age 13, I started out originally wanting to do it all. Hair, makeup, nails, skin. You could name any service in the industry, and I wanted to learn it. But when I started working at that first lash spa at 16, I had finally found my niche in Esthetics and lashes. It resonated with me on the deepest level and personally I felt that I could make the most difference in the specialty of Esthetics, and I’ve been in the spa / salon industry ever since. It was at that same lash spa that I first became certified in classic lashes over 4 years ago, after I came back from Esthetician school with my license in-hand. Since then I have worked at many beauty establishments, and through my time in the industry, I have learned so much about what products and techniques are the best, and the importance of putting quality first. I don’t believe in taking shortcuts when it comes to my education, skill, cleanliness, and providing excellent results. I've seen it all - good and bad. That is what motivates me to give my clients only the very best. Helping people reach their beauty, skin, and wellness goals is extremely important and fulfilling to me as someone who suffered with skin problems and insecurities. I like to take time to listen to my clients and assess all their needs through a thorough consultation to ensure we are on the right track to achieving your dream look. I graduated the Advanced Esthetician program at Portland Beauty School in 2017. I was first licensed in Oregon and Washington before relocating to North Carolina. I am also 4x certified in eyelash extensions, as well as certifications for many other Esthetics services that I offer. I am always looking to learn more and educate myself about how to come closer to perfecting my work. As far as my personal life, I am a military spouse, as well as a mom of one beautiful baby boy and two wonderful dogs. I can’t wait to get to know you and your beauty goals!
